Gabriel Orozco Working Tables/Spacetime
Gabriel Orozco
Working Tables/Spacetime
A singular look at Orozco’s itinerant studio practice, from the materials he collects on his travels to the finished works pulled from gallery storage.
Published in a dos-à-dos format, Working Tables/Spacetime simultaneously focuses on two different projects by Gabriel Orozco (born 1962). The first half covers his Working Tables made from the accumulation of various objects, sketches, models and leftovers of his art making. They give a sense of Orozco’s working process in a particular environment, and his subsequent experimentation. The other half of the book focuses on Spacetime, a long-term, temporary exhibition which brought together a large selection of his work amassed from over thirty years of living in New York and exhibiting with Marian Goodman Gallery. Included is a new text by historian Benjamin H.D. Buchloh which discusses both projects at length.
